CSU MAX

Overview

Created a logo and designed touchpoints for an event by the CSU Entertainment Alliance in partnership with Adobe. Logo and colors were inspired by Adobe MAX and used for touchpoints such as flyers, brochures, t-shirts, and stickers.

Role

Logo and Touchpoint Designer

Project Scope

  • Logo Design
  • Flyer Design
  • Brochure Design

Process

  • Typeface Experiments
  • Logo Drafts
  • Final Drafts
  • Flyer and Other Touchpoints

Research

  • Style and Color references
  • Texture Research

Design Process

Typeface Experiments

Me and the other designer I worked with started with different layouts to show the client to finalize the way they wanted their logo laid out. They notified us that they would like the CSU logo overlaying the MAX portion of the logo. This helped us progress and focus on finding the right typeface to work with.

Submitted Logos

Taking into consideration the CSU element, I submitted 3 logos alongside the other designer’s logos, totaling about 6 options for the client to choose from.

Final Logo

The final logo was chosen and colors in the collaborator logos were turned to black to make it easier to apply to touch points and to provide equal visibility to collaborator logos.

Touchpoints

Event Flyer

Used for printed flyers and social media posts.

Considerations

Designing a full identity for CSU MAX pushed me outside my usual UX/UI focus, especially since this was a brand-new event with little existing inspiration to draw from. Beyond the logo, I collaborated with another designer through multiple rounds of client feedback, then adapted and recolored the final design across touchpoints like flyers, brochures, stickers, and t-shirts to keep it consistent within each format's constraints. This project strengthened my ability to build a cohesive visual identity from scratch and translate a single design across multiple platforms and materials.
